So, I'm about to head off to get more blood work done. I almost passed my one hour glucose challenge test. Almost. I missed the cut off by one point, so I have to go and do a 2 hour post-prandial test (which is where I'm about to head to now). Basically, I ate my normal breakfast, then I wait two hours (and I can't eat anything, and I'm starving again!) and get my blood taken to see if my sugar levels came down appropriately. I chose Special K this morning for breakfast - that may be cheating a little - but hey, whatever. :)
In other news, I started having Braxton Hicks contractions. I've had them off and on, and only a few of them have been kind of painful. Mostly it's just uncomfortable squeezing, but every once in a while they get super tight and I have to stop and catch my breath. We were at Dick's Sporting Goods on Saturday looking for a pocket pedometer for me, when I had two contractions within 5 minutes of each other. Luckily, there was only 2 of them!
We started cleaning out the baby's room. We are trying to decide on paint colors, which is a lot harder than you'd imagine. Our nursery bedding is dark and light green, yellow, chocolate and light brown, with light blue accents. The walls right now are dark and light blue - and the light blue matches pretty well to the bedding. However, I just can't decide what color will make the room look all put together the way I had envisioned.
We still have no names decided on yet. There are some that I'm leaning towards, but Mark and I haven't agreed on anything. We're getting close, and this baby is going to be nameless!
Our childbirth class is going well. It's been really informative, and I think knowledge is power. Seriously, it takes away a lot of the anxiety if you have a general idea of what you're getting in to. Now, I know births never go as planned, so that still is nerve-wracking, but hey, at least we know what COULD happen. Right now the baby is breech (as of my 30 week appointment), so I'm hoping we get him/her to flip soon. There have been some serious hard core movements as he/she gets stronger and stronger, but I can't tell if any of them were flipping or not... probably not, as I think there's not enough room in there for flipping without me seeing it on the outside.
